Fort Hunter Mansion

Explore 40 acres along the Susquehanna River where colonial settlement began in 1725. The Federal-style mansion, built in three sections across 1786 to 1870, sits on the site of a French and Indian War fort. Tour the restored mansion with guides who share centuries of stories, then walk the grounds past ten historic buildings and along the old Pennsylvania Canal towpath. The park includes picnic areas, playground equipment, a non-motorized boat launch, and river overlooks. Your family can spend an hour inside the mansion or hours exploring the full park.
